What You Can Expect:
- Lead the onboarding and offboarding experience for Canadian employees, ensuring a seamless transition for both in-office and remote team members.
- Serve as the primary administrator for Canadian employee benefits programs, partnering with providers and supporting annual plan renewals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, providing guidance on HR policies, employment matters, workplace concerns, and employee relations issues.
- Conduct workplace investigations, address employee concerns and allegations of misconduct, and partner with leadership to implement effective resolutions.
- Support compensation planning activities, including annual salary reviews, bonus target agreements, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Manage employee lifecycle transactions within ADP and Workday, ensuring data integrity and compliance throughout the employee journey.
- Develop and maintain employment-related documentation, including offer letters, promotion and transfer letters, employment verifications, job descriptions, and separation agreements.
- Coordinate background checks, reference verifications, and exit interview processes.
- Track employee contracts, leaves of absence, and work permit status to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Analyze workforce metrics, including turnover and employee feedback trends, and provide recommendations to enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
- Review and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to ensure alignment with business objectives and evolving employment legislation.
- Partner with leadership to support health and safety initiatives and maintain compliance with provincial and federal requirements.
- Assist with employee relocations and international assignments in accordance with company policies.
- Support payroll operations as required and serve as a backup resource to ensure continuity of payroll processing.
- Train and mentor new HR team members while supporting the ongoing development of HR processes and best practices.
- Manage HR vendor relationships, departmental invoicing, record retention, and administrative processes.
- Provide occasional support to the Talent Acquisition team through candidate sourcing and other recruitment-related activities as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of HR programs and services.
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business administration or a related field and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in Human Resources.
- Experience supporting logistics, transportation, distribution, or warehousing operations is considered a strong asset.
- Experience utilizing Workday HRIS for employee lifecycle management, reporting, and HR administration is considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrate an ability in successfully leading projects in HR.
- Solid practical knowledge of talent management disciplines, such as performance management, succession planning, talent planning, competency development, compensation, employee relations, and talent analytics.
- Great interpersonal skills and strong analytical, management and decision-making skills to assess training needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, and government law.
- Ability to understand business plans and to develop impactful HR solutions in response to those plans.
- Able to communicate clearly and confidently with all individuals both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and multiple deadlines.
- Ability to commute to our Mississauga branch.
Skills Required
