The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor and operational resource to managers and employees, ensuring alignment between business objectives and human resources practices in support of Grand Central Bakery’s mission to serve our customers delicious, authentic food made from high quality local and sustainable ingredients. This role is responsible for fostering a positive work environment through effective employee relations, compliance oversight, talent acquisition, performance management, and training initiatives. The HR Business Partner collaborates closely with executive and senior leadership to support organizational goals, drive employee engagement, and promote equitable and inclusive workplace practices.
Compensation: $110,000 - $115,000 full-time annual equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a strategic HRBP or senior HR leadership role.
- Proven experience partnering with senior and executive leadership to drive talent strategy and organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated success in performance management, compliance, and employee and labor relations (union experience highly preferred).
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies to organizational goals.
- Advanced computer skills in MS365 or comparable programs.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Skilled in coaching, conflict resolution, and change management.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in stressful or ambiguous situations.
- Experience in organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Commitment to justice, equity diversity, inclusion, (JEDI)
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification highly preferred.
- Valid Food Handler’s Card required by date of hire due to co-location in a food production facility.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish highly preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally for hiring events, training, or multi-site support.
- Comfortable working in both strategic and hands-on capacities.
