POSITION OVERVIEW
Provides skilled leadership in the delivery of human resource services and activities to the management team and employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as a liaison to management on HR related issues such as talent and performance management, leadership development, workforce planning, labor & employee relations, training objectives, compensation and benefits.
- Fosters a cohesive working relationship with the local union and participates in committees as needed.
- Conducts inquiries and investigations, as required, and works closely with management to resolve issues.
- Assists in responding to claims from outside entities such as the local union, EEOC, and DOL.
- Counsels site supervisory management on the Labor Agreement to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and corresponding employment laws.
- Provides day-to-day guidance to front line managers and employees in regards to coaching, counseling, career development, policy interpretation, and general HR related policy or procedures.
- Manage complex employee relations issues by conducting effective investigations.
- Maintain in-depth and current knowledge of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provides general HR duties that include conducting exit interviews, data gathering and reporting, assisting in
- HRIS related changes and updates and assisting in the recruiting process as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Requires four (4) to (7) seven years of directly related human resources experience
- A Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field highly preferred
- SPHR/PHR Certification preferred
- Strong Employee Relations and Conflict Resolutions skills
- Must have knowledge of employment related laws, NLRA, and compliance with government regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills in developing consensus building
- Must have excellent computer skills with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities
- Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must be willing to travel 10%
