Amentum is currently seeking candidates for the position of Clerk/ Human Resources Assistant working with the Rotary Wing Flight Training Contract at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This position will support Human Resources operations and will provide broad administrative support that requires performance of standard and advanced administrative duties requiring considerable understanding and application of organization policies and practices.
The HR Assistant provides administrative support in payroll, new hire onboarding, I-9 documentation, terminations, leave tracking, reporting & documentation, responding to basic employee questions, and other administrative tasks in support of Human Resources.
Essential Responsibilities
- Monitors time and attendance records and performs time edits in the payroll system as needed
- Creates payroll reports and performs payroll audits Perform onboarding, orientation, and new hire processing.
- Monitors and maintains Family Medical Leave Act cases, other Leave of Absence requests,
- Maintains centralized electronic files on each Leave of Absence case and documentation
- Prepares and proofreads correspondence as requested
- Creates and maintains word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, and/or other software files and information
- Maintain confidential information and records
- Screens and directs incoming telephone calls. Perform data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, and data base work
- Maintain correspondence, forms, listings, files, reports, and automated personnel records and information.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to Fort Rucker and government network (Common Access Card)
- Proficiency with Microsoft office professional software and ability to easily adapt to new systems. Experience in employment, on-boarding processes, E-Verify, timekeeping administration, benefits administration, FMLA administration, employee records management
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform complex data entry at an acceptable rate of speed and accuracy
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- A strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to establish a high level of trust and credibility in the organization; confidentiality and discretion are essential
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with others, possessing tact and discretion and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in all matters Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint or other web-based time collection systems and/or WorkDay or other HRIS systems is preferred
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work location is on the third floor of a of government building with no elevator. Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 15 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizational skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Using stairs to transport supplies to the second and third floor of government buildings with no elevator.

$21.00
