Human Resources Assistant – Lawrence, MA
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am-5pm
Pay Range: $24-$32 per hour

Abel Womack’s Human Resources team is looking for a motivated, detail driven HR Assistant to support a wide range of HR operations that keep our employees informed, engaged, and supported‑driven.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to take ownership of critical HR functions, collaborate with leadership, and contribute directly to employee engagement, development, and organizational success. You will be a trusted partner to employees and managers, supporting HR initiatives that drive company culture, retention, and operational excellence
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a knowledgeable, frontline HR resource for employees and managers—providing guidance, answering questions, and ensuring a positive employee experience.
- Manage applicants in ADP Recruiting Management, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, and prepare offer packages.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, prepare orientation materials, audit paperwork, and ensure all systems and records are accurate and complete.
- Prepare and distribute LOA materials, track documentation deadlines, and coordinate updates with employees and managers.
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Administer the PureSafety learning platform—assign training, build curriculum, run reports, and track completions.
- Maintain confidential employee files and perform regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Update and maintain employee records in the HRIS.
- Monitor key employee requirements such as benefits enrollment, safety training and PIT license renewal.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in HR, business, psychology, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of human resources experience (in a sales/service environment a plus)
- Strong administrative skills with exceptional accuracy, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including intermediate Excel)
- Experience with HRIS systems and ADP Recruiting preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Strong problem‑solving ability and eagerness to contribute to continuous improvement
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
