What you’ll do

In this support role on AlixPartners’ Corporate Services team, you will assist our People Business Partner team with a wide range of tasks related to day-to-day Operations.

The Human Resources Assistant (known internally as People Operations Professional) is a full-time role reporting to a People Business Partner Director and located in Southfield, Michigan. Paid relocation is not available for this position.

  • Update our internal databases and systems with employee information.
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding human resources matters. Respond to staff inquiries or redirect to appropriate team.
  • Handle regular and ad hoc reporting requests, including synthesizing data in a digestible format.
  • Follow up with employees to ensure compliance on people processes.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding administration.
  • Assist with human resource audits and reporting.
  • Support performance management processes, including gathering employee data.
  • Assist in scheduling of talent sessions and organizing agendas.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field highly preferred.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a professional services firm.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers at all levels.
  • Ability to be discreet and handle confidential, sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with HCM (Human Capital Management) software is a plus (e.g. Oracle, Workday, SAP, Ultipro, ADP, etc.).
  • Desire to learn new skills and commitment to continuous improvement with a high degree of initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States. No VISAs available for this position.
