We’re looking for a Human Resource Generalist who will serve as the the primary point of contact for employee Human Resources matters by independently assessing and resolving HR inquiries, interpreting Company policies, and determining the appropriate course of action, including escalation to an HR Business Partner when necessary. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.

  • Exercises independent judgment in resolving routine Human Resources matters and determining the appropriate application of Company policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee Human Resources inquiries by independently assessing issues, interpreting Company policies and procedures, resolving routine matters, and determining when escalation to an HR Business Partner or other HR subject matter expert is appropriate.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing timely, accurate, and professional guidance to employees while fostering a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Manage the Human Resources inbox, phone line, and shared communication channels, ensuring employee inquiries are responded to promptly and service level expectations are consistently met.
  • Serve as an initial HR resource for employee relations matters by receiving employee concerns, gathering relevant information, providing guidance on routine policy-related questions, documenting issues, and exercising sound judgment to determine when escalation to an HR Business Partner is appropriate.
  • Support the administration of leave of absence programs by providing initial guidance to employees and managers, assisting with documentation, and partnering with the Benefits team and third-party administrators to ensure the timely and compliant administration of FMLA, personal leaves of absence, and other applicable leave programs. Coordinate the interactive process and support the administration of ADA accommodations in accordance with Company policy and applicable laws.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employee benefits and leave-related inquiries by providing general guidance, assisting with qualifying life events and enrollment questions, and partnering with the Benefits team to ensure employees receive timely and accurate support.
  • Prepare, respond to, and manage unemployment claims, employment verifications, rehire eligibility determinations, and other employment-related requests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and Company policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within ADP and other Human Resources systems, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with record retention requirements.
  • Support Human Resources compliance initiatives by coordinating labor law postings, assisting with audits, maintaining required documentation, and monitoring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Coordinate badge administration, security access requests, and employee access audits in partnership with Security and other internal departments.
  • Partner with Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and other departments to ensure seamless resolution of employee inquiries and consistent delivery of Human Resources services.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation by preparing materials, delivering engaging onboarding sessions, introducing employees to Company policies and programs, and creating a positive first-day employee experience.
  • Analyze recurring employee inquiries and recommend process improvements, communication enhancements, and solutions to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare reports, maintain Human Resources documentation, and compile data to support business operations, compliance requirements, and leadership decision-making.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives by coordinating recognition programs, employee events, communication campaigns, surveys, and other activities that promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Partner with HR leadership to implement Human Resources initiatives, programs, and process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness and the overall employee experience.
  • Participate in departmental projects, continuous improvement initiatives, acquisitions, policy implementation, and other strategic Human Resources initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and business information.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Represent the Company in a professional, ethical, and customer-focused manner while providing exceptional service to employees, managers, and business partners.
  • Maintain compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Support Company initiatives, organizational changes, acquisitions, employee engagement activities, and other Human Resources programs as assigned.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by supporting evolving business needs, departmental priorities, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Travel occasionally to Company locations, meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events as required.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

 

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist, Human Resources Coordinator, Human Resources Operations, Employee Relations, or similar role, demonstrating knowledge of Human Resources principles, employment laws, employee relations, policy interpretation, and Human Resources compliance.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site or field-based environment preferred.
  • HR professional certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and other applicable employment laws.
  • General understanding of employee benefits, leave administration, unemployment, and Human Resources compliance processes.
  • Ability to independently assess employee inquiries, interpret Company policies and procedures, exercise sound judgment, and determine the appropriate course of action, including determining when escalation to an HR Business Partner is appropriate.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships with employees, managers, and business partners.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience working in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferably ADP.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and a proactive approach to identifying issues, solving problems, and continuously improving processes while delivering exceptional customer service.
