Description: The Human Resources Generalist requires the individual to be culturally competent, while
working with a diverse employee population within our health center. The primary role is to help the
Human Resources Director navigate issues on a daily basis and help maintain the compliance of the
organization with local, state, and federal agencies.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help with employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution
  • Research current salaries across multiple job markets
  • Create spreadsheets and reports to deliver to executive management on employee performance, department performance, need for hiring, etc.
  • Maintain and update all locations posters, and compliance materials
  • Help to develop coaching and disciplinary action plans
  • At time, have “hard” discussions with employees while remaining empathetic to each individuals needs but also maintaining the needs of the practice.
  • Help staff supervisors to de-escalate all situations immediately and come up with solutions.
  • Maintain and update the PTO calendar. Ensure approval of all PTO requests.
  • Help to maintain 90 day and annual employee reviews.
  • Maintain all employee records, licensing, and credentials, FMLA short and long-term disability, and liability insurance. Ensure all are up to date.
  • Help to update and maintain the employee handbook as needed with approval from HR Director and In-house Counsel.
  • Update and maintain all employee personnel files.
  • Review employee timecards biweekly and process payroll.
  • Assist the HR Director and Business Director in any and all duties.
  • Help to create and implement employee relations policies to help increase employees’ job satisfaction
  • Help to manage the staffing process by assisting in recruiting, advertising open positions, reviewing resumes, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Help to develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities.
  • Ensure all staff are up to date in training courses and send reminders to employees and supervisors when training is overdue.
  • Any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • Must have at least 2 years of HR experience.
  • Must have knowledge of a broad range of human resources strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; ability to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations.
  • Must have experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning.
  • Must have Excel and Word experience to create spreadsheets and documents.

Skills Required

  • At least 2 years of human resources experience
  • Knowledge of compensation, performance management, safety, hiring, employee relations, and employment regulations
  • Experience analyzing data for strategic employment planning
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
