The Role:
This is an opportunity to be a key contributor to a rapidly growing global software consolidator. We seek a strategic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our dynamic team, supporting our international operations across the DACH region – specifically our Headquarters and Operating Companies across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Reporting to the Director, HRBP, this role will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and Operating Company CEOs across the DACH portfolio. The HRBP will collaborate closely with HR colleagues globally to deliver strategic HR solutions that drive business performance, foster employee engagement, and support organisational growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DACH employment law and HR practices, strong business acumen, and proven experience partnering with diverse stakeholders in a global environment.
Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner with business leaders, and executives across DACH Headquarters and Operating Companies to understand business objectives, challenges, and talent needs.
- Provide strategic HR guidance and support across organisational design, workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning.
- Translate business strategy into actionable HR initiatives that drive organisational effectiveness and align with Banyan’s broader global objectives.
- Collaborate with business leaders, and executives to develop and implement HR initiatives that align with business goals and drive organisational effectiveness across the DACH portfolio.
- Identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for HR strategies that support business growth and decision-making.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for employees across the DACH region, providing guidance and support on a broad range of employee relations matters.
- Lead efforts to promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work culture, driving initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner, ensuring full compliance with local labour laws across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as Banyan company policies.
Performance, Compensation & Compliance
- Support the performance management process, guiding managers and employees on goal setting, performance feedback, and development planning.
- Partner with Compensation and Benefits teams to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices across the DACH portfolio, with sensitivity to market nuances in each country.
- Analyse performance and compensation data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations, and company policies across all DACH locations, partnering with legal and compliance teams as required.
- Mitigate HR-related risks and ensure data privacy and confidentiality in accordance with GDPR and applicable Banyan standards.
Communication & Change Management
- Develop clear, consistent, and engaging communication materials to support organisational goals and initiatives, utilising channels appropriate for DACH audiences.
- Lead significant HR-related change initiatives across the DACH region, ensuring successful implementation and adoption across Operating Companies.
- Develop and execute change management strategies that include robust stakeholder engagement, and define project scope, timelines, and milestones.
- Create and maintain toolkits, templates, playbooks, and training materials that enable Operating Companies to effectively self-serve on core HR processes and initiatives.
M&A Integration & Restructuring
- Support HR due diligence and post-merger integration activities for newly acquired Operating Companies, including people assessment, compliance gap analysis, and transition planning.
- Lead or support major restructuring programmes within the DACH portfolio, including workforce planning, organisational redesign, and works council engagement where applicable.
- Ensure HR compliance issues identified during diligence are tracked and resolved post-acquisition, partnering with legal and Operating Company leadership to drive remediation.
- Advise Operating Company leaders on works council obligations and engagement strategies, particularly during periods of significant organisational change.
Qualifications for success:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or HR certification preferred.
- Six to eight years of progressive HRBP experience, with significant exposure to DACH employment law and HR practices in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
- Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including compensation practices, organisational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and country-specific employment laws.
- Fluency in German and English is required; additional language proficiency (e.g. French for Switzerland) is a strong advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on tact, diplomacy, and cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritise multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and manage ambiguity.
- Proficiency with Google Suite; ability to quickly learn and work across the organisation's HRIS and talent management platforms.
- SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent European HR certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in an M&A or private equity portfolio environment is required, including involvement in HR due diligence and/or post-merger integration. Experience leading or supporting major restructuring programmes - including workforce reductions and works council engagement - is strongly preferred.
The expected base salary for this position is: 115,000EUR - 125,000EUR and excludes annual bonus and equity (when applicable). Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
