JOB SUMMARY:

U.S. Multimodal is seeking a growth opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to support key HR functions across multiple business entities, with a strong emphasis on multi-entity on-boarding, benefits support, and additional cross functional HR tasks. This individual will be responsible for ensuring HR compliance, consistency, and operational efficiency in day-to-day HR activities across the organization. The ideal candidate is a skilled generalist who is comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced environment and serving as a HR team partner and for employees.


We are seeking an on-site Human Resources Generalist in Franklin, Tennessee, responsible for overseeing and processing employee payroll and health benefit management with a focus on accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include entering payroll data, benefit management, resolving discrepancies, maintaining accurate payroll records, and collaborating with both the Human Resources and Accounting departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process multi-entity payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in coordination with finance and accounting
  • Manage employee benefits including open enrollment, and new hire enrollments, and issue resolutions
  • Conduct new hire orientation and facilitate employee onboarding, including benefits education
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across all business units
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on the front line of HR-related issues including employee relations, performance, and policy interpretation.
  • Manage recruiting and hiring processes for open roles within the holding company
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data across multiple entities, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Coordinate HR functions as assigned by the VP of Human Resources
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; assist with handbook updates and policy development as needed.
  • Support HR initiatives that improve employee engagement, training, and retention
  • Manage employee training needs and help to identify training gaps
  • Manage preliminary employee incident reports and investigations
  • Monitor changing legislation in all applicable geographies
  • Assist with collecting and tracking employee handbook policies updates and interpretation 

Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of HR experience, willingness to learn benefits administration across multiple entities
  • Basic understanding of HR policies, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with HRIS platforms; BambooHR a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) a plus but not required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting a distributed or multi-entity workforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with transportation or logistics industry a plus.
