Job Overview:
The HSES Tech provides solutions to problems in conjunction with HSE Advisors / Supervisors and will evaluate and select solutions from established HSES Management Systems.
ResponsibilitiesKey Taks and Responsibilities:
- Conversant with local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations
- Serve as a resource to develop and administer a proactive prevention program for incidents
- Provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state, and company environmental, safety, and health regulations
- Implement the HSES activity plan and ensure activities are completed as scheduled
- Assist with incident investigations and compilation of reports
- Assist with medical evacuations and respond to emergencies as required
- Regularly inspect the work areas to identify unsafe acts or conditions
- Conduct compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety, and health standards of the company and all applicable codes are followed
- Observe work groups and provide guidance and coaching to personnel to perform work safely
- Assist in the delivery and observation of toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s)
- Observe the condition of plant and equipment and report deficiencies
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Diploma or equivalent certification
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Maintain key competencies associated with the HSES function
- Have experience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Exposure to incident investigation and analysis software preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Ability to apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations
- Ability to use best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline
- Proven experience promoting teamwork, coaching, and guiding others
