ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are searching for an HSEQ Manager to join our Ein Hahoresh plant, where we manufacture steel drums, plastic containers and packaging closures.

In this role you are leading and managing all aspects of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental compliance at the site, ensuring alignment with Israeli labor laws, international standards and corporate policies.

As HSEQ Manager you are responsible for implementing and maintaining a culture of Safety and Quality at the plant in accordance to Greif Way. You will promote and ensure the continuous improvements processes and guarantee compliance with legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Health and Safety

  • Works with management and staff to implement EH&S strategy. Being the site lead for health and safety initiatives and a point of contact for regulatory inspections.
  • Conducts comprehensive EH&S audits to identify hazards and compliance issues, and monitor corrective actions to ensure the safety, health of environmental risk are removed.
  • Oversees and reviews policies to ensure compliance with established standards and legislation.
  • Drives the culture of safety ownership at all levels of the organization
  • Engages staff and managers in continuous improvement in EH&S performance
  • Develops, implements and maintains accident statistical bases for internal and external reporting.
  • Conducts training sessions at facility level.
  • Conducts risk assessments.
  • Monitors and executes LOTOTO procedures.
  • Leads safety meetings and participates in GEMBA walks.

Quality

  • Designs, develops, implements and improves quality assurance programs, product quality standards, and quality plans, in collaboration with the Engineering and Operations functions.
  • Advises and consults plant management on all quality-related issues.
  • Provides training, coaching and mentoring regarding product quality standards, quality plans and company Quality System (QS) application use.
  • Performs periodic testing and documents results for certification and compliance purposes. Develops reports, files and other administrative paperwork in support of quality plans and systems.
  • Interacts with customers and suppliers to aid in resolution of major quality issues. Leads issue-related projects and assists plant with establishing effective corrective actions.
  • Monitors adherence to established quality standards, recommending changes as needed. Supports continuous process improvement initiatives and incorporates Lean Manufacturing principles. Ensures the maintenance/revision of relevant documentation.
  • Assists with designing, implementing, maintaining, auditing and improving plant-wide Quality Management Systems.
  • Administers, supports and utilizes the QS applications software as a system administrator. Monitors the effective use of the various QS applications.

Requirements

  • Have 5-10 years of working experience in an industrial environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in applying QHSE legislation, and regulation in industrial environment. (Prioritizing Safety)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify unsafe work practices and able to recognize processes subject to safety/environmental regulations
  • Experience in facilitating training and providing leadership to colleagues and managing people
  • Previously in a role conducting ISO certification audits
  • Expertise in claim/complaint management preferred
  • Knowledge of Total Quality Management, Continue Improvement, Lean tools, and statistical techniques
  • Fluent verbal and written communications skills in Hebrew and English
