This position reports to:
Business Manager - Commercial and Operations__
In this role, you will play a key part in driving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) excellence across multiple sites and projects by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, ABB standards, and international management systems. You will partner with operational teams to identify and mitigate risks, promote a strong safety culture, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance HSE performance. By providing expert guidance, delivering training, conducting audits and inspections, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, you will help ensure safe, sustainable, and compliant operations throughout the organization.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business Area in Algeria, reporting to the Business Manager - Commercial and Operations in Hydra, Algeria. Main stakeholders are Operations teams, Project Managers, Site Managers, Customers, Suppliers, Subcontractors, Regulatory Authorities, and Internal HSE, Quality, and Management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitating HSE risk assessments with line management and shop floor employees to identify hazards and ensure effective risk mitigation
Conducting site inspections, HSE audits, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, ABB standards, and ISO management systems
Reporting HSE incidents, supporting incident investigations, and driving corrective and preventive actions to reduce operational risks
Developing, implementing, and continuously improving HSE procedures, work instructions, safety plans, and operational guidelines
Promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture by delivering training, raising awareness, and driving safe behaviors across operational teams
Monitoring and reporting HSE performance, sustainability objectives, and key performance indicators while sharing lessons learned and best practices
Supporting managers and supervisors in understanding HSE legal obligations, company requirements, and effective risk management practices
Collaborating with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders to enhance HSE performance and ensure compliance
Ensuring the availability and proper use of safety equipment, tools, and Group management systems across multiple sites and projects
Planning, coordinating, and executing HSE improvement projects while managing project objectives, resources, and implementation progress
You will join a collaborative team where you'll help build a strong safety culture, shape best practices, and support a safe, sustainable workplace.
Qualifications:
You are immersed in HSE management systems, risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance within industrial, energy, utility, or construction environments
You have 3–5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment, working on operational sites and conducting inspections, audits, and risk assessments
You possess strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience developing and implementing HSE procedures and safety documentation
You have a demonstrated track record in applying national HSE regulations and supporting continuous improvement of HSE performance across multiple sites and projects
You are passionate about promoting a strong safety culture, delivering training, and building effective relationships with employees, customers, and other stakeholders
You hold a degree in HSE, Industrial, Process, or a related Engineering discipline
You are at ease communicating in English, Arabic, and French
You are willing to travel extensively across Algeria and enjoy working in a field-based, hands-on environment

Skills Required
- Experience with HSE management systems, risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance in industrial, energy, utility, or construction environments
