Ensures safe and environmentally responsible workplace activities in compliance with Nigerian regulations, company policies, procedures, and industry standards. Conducts inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, safety training, emergency preparedness, and HSE documentation. Supports regulatory inspections, audits, compliance activities, and safety-culture development as a manufacturing facility transitions to full production. Collaborates with production, engineering, maintenance, warehouse, procurement, logistics, and HR teams.

The role ensures that workplace activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally
responsible manner, in compliance with applicable Nigerian legislation, regulatory
requirements, company policies, approved procedures, and relevant industry standards.
The HSE Officer will work closely with Production, Engineering & Maintenance, Warehouse,
Procurement & Logistics, HR, and other functions to identify and control workplace hazards,
promote safe working practices, investigate incidents, support emergency preparedness,
and maintain appropriate HSE documentation and records.
The role will also support the development of a strong safety culture as the manufacturing
facility progresses from operational setup into full-scale production.
The role reports to the Quality Manager.
Requirements
Experience & Education
1. Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety,
Environmental Management, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
2. Minimum 3 - 5 years’ relevant HSE experience, preferably within a manufacturing,
industrial, construction, engineering, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or other operational
environment.
3. Demonstrated experience in workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident
investigation, safety training, emergency preparedness, and HSE documentation.
4. Working knowledge of applicable Nigerian HSE, environmental, fire safety, and
occupational safety requirements.
5. Experience supporting regulatory inspections, HSE audits, and compliance activities is
an advantage.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, construction, engineering, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or another operational environment.
