That means you will ensure that facilities provided are well maintained, regulation/procedure are in place and implemented, hazards/aspects assessments are conducted, the accident both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and energy and waste are driven down.
How you will contribute
You will:
- Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
- Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes
- Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances
- Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities
- Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
- Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillar team/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
- Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards`

- Must have completed Environmental Health and Safety training in areas such as OSHA, EPA, DNREC
- Experience in safety, and/or environmental technical standards

- Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO

JOB SCOPE
• The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership, expertise and support in health, safety and environment for manufacturing activities, in order to support the delivery of a world class culture and world class performance.
• This role is responsible for developing the systems, skills, and supporting the culture to provide a safe, secure and healthy work environment, which ensures regulatory compliance and adheres to Mondelez HSE Global management systems through the development, implementation of strategic initiatives/plans and gap assessment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
HSE Leadership
• Lead and coach the site leadership team to provide and deliver agreed HSE plans, in line with the country HSE strategy and objectives.
• Proactively identify ways to improve the effectiveness of teamwork.
• Actively live MDLZ values in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor the implementation of HSE plans and ensure time frames are adhered to at the plant.
• Leads Global Mondelez HSE programs for the site and participates in learning/sharing opportunities across the Country/AP/Global community.
HSE Strategy & Planning
• Contribute to the development of the plant HSE strategy and roadmap, which supports the Mondelēz International global vision, strategy and values.
• Identify, translate and promote best practices at the site and in the Country/AP community
• Actively participate in or lead identified health, safety and environment Projects and programs as required.
• Lead monthly HSE Meetings to drive involvement of employees in safety & environment related matters, share safe work practices, drive accountability and review both lagging and leading performance metrics.
• Take a proactive role in the removal of obstacles to success, escalation of issues or short comings in performance, accident investigation as well as compliance and regulatory issues
• Tracking, monitoring and reporting of progress to plans and performance indictors through sharing and networking with the HSE AP community to measure effectiveness of those plans.
HSE Systems and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and corporate requirements for HSE (Global Standards) and advise sites/ any changes or updates as required.
• Coordinate implementation of consistent facility access, induction and orientation processes for all employees, contractors etc.
• Reduction in level of risk across the operational activities, with an emphasis on plant, equipment and tasks performed across all functions.
• Drive the achievement and maintenance of safety accreditation specifically OHSAS 18001 and environmental accreditation specifically ISO14001
• Lead and manage HSE Projects and programs as required by the Business.
Technical Advice
• Provide technical health, safety and environmental advice and support to manufacturing site. Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of current legislation in the country of operation.
• Provide coaching and guidance to site leadership teams for health, safety and environment related issues and where required directly manage the health, safety or environment issue.
• Ensure that best practice knowledge is shared amongst all HSE professionals and the Site Leadership Team to ensure consistency of approach and delivery of improved culture
Counsel & Advice
• Provide coaching and mentoring to members of the site leadership team, site HSE team, HSE pillar for IL6S sites on health, safety and environment issues as required.
• Participate directly in managing key health and safety issues at a site level.
Employee Health & Wellbeing
• Support the development and implementation of a consistent AP wide approach to proactive health and wellbeing.
HSE Incident Management & Reporting
• Ensure HSE incidents are reported and investigated within MDLZ guidelines and information is shared across the AP Region where applicable
• Ensure HSE incidents are effectively investigated to identify root cause(s).
• Ensure clear reporting and consolidation of data from site activities identifying any potential developing risks and working with the country HSE Lead to develop plans to mitigate such risks.
• Actively participate in incident investigation / management as required.
• Liaise with senior management, Regulator/Authority if required during serious incident management.
Behavioral Safety & Culture
• Actively participate in the development and implementation of activities designed to engage employees in improving HSE outcomes and culture.
• Provide coaching and support to manufacturing leaders and functional managers to improve employee and contractor engagement across sites.
HSE Training & Communications
• Develop and implement a training needs analysis to ensure legal requirements as well as continuous improvement.
• Monitor the effectiveness of training across the region, including assessing competence for skills training.
• Identify and develop consistent training packages to support country procedure implementation, legal and business specific requirements.
• Deliver training as required.
• Promote HSE through various methods of communication and engagement for site leadership teams.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree or above in health & safety or related majors
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial safety and 2 years in a managerial role
• Experienced HSE professional with strong technical knowledge (HSE knowledge, process safety, methodologies, practices and industrial hygiene regulations)
• Knowledge of regional legal requirements for health and safety
• Good understanding of integrated management systems for Safety &/or Environment
• Understanding of the interpretation and application of OSHAS 18000/ISO14001
• Good stakeholder management skills
• Excellent in HSE processes including HIRA, Root Cause Analysis, Lock Out Tag Out, PPE Assessments, Behavior Based Safety, Ergonomics, Design Safety Reviews, Permit to work, Contractor safety management, Process Safety etc.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and project management skills
• Creative and innovative in application of safety systems
• Acts with honesty and integrity
