About the Role
An exciting opportunity has emerged at Opella for a Head of HSE at an industrial site, where you’ll take on a key leadership role. You’ll be responsible for fostering a strong HSE culture throughout the organization, ensuring a safety-first mindset at all levels, and driving performance excellence.
This role is based entirely in the an industrial site in Rzeszów.
Key Duties
You will manage and direct all safety and environmental initiatives across the manufacturing facility, while supervising a team of two individuals within the department. Additionally, you will ensure the effective implementation and ongoing monitoring of Opella’s health, safety, and environmental policies for all employees at the Rzeszow site, including:
- Initiating programs aimed at preventing workplace accidents and occupational diseases.
- Reviewing and submitting proposals on health, safety, and environmental matters to the Plant Director.
- Close cooperation: locally with Site Director, outside the Factory with Corporate HSE Management
- Setting up, managing, and ensuring adherence to safety, health, and industrial hygiene regulations and procedures required by law and Opella’s internal standards, covering both the plant’s staff and external contractors.
- Contributing to the improvement of employees’ competence and awareness regarding Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance, as well as the Integrated EHS Management System.
- Conducting safety audits and inspections within all departments, and overseeing the corrective and preventive actions.
- Supporting the management of EHS projects aimed at identifying and eliminating occupational hazards.
- Providing onboarding training on workplace health and safety and fire protection.
- Engaging with the social labor inspector, occupational physician, and trade unions to improve working conditions.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic leader with a proven track record in any production-related leadership role, such as HSE, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, or similar disciplines.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
- A university degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial position with experience in an international company being a strong advantage.
- Strong team leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, along with a high level of conscientiousness, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of labor law, health and safety regulations, and environmental protection standards.
- Proficiency in English. Polish is a must.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Prior experience in HSE-related projects, along with relevant qualifications such as Occupational Health and Safety Service certifications or Fire Protection Inspector qualifications, would be considered an advantage.
