Description
Main Purposes
HSE Coordinator / Advisor works to ensure that company employees can complete their work safely. The HSE Coordinator / Advisor sets safety standards for the workplace based on legal and procedural requirements and train employees to help them understand these rules. HSE Coordinator / Advisor also monitor working conditions and resolve any safety issues that may arise at the construction site.
Essential Functions
- Conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis within the facility and occasionally at offsite and offshore work sites.
- Attend safety assessments and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks.
- Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation.
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- Investigate incidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes and corrective actions.
- Participate in the creation of report detailing the results of incident findings.
- Instruct and test ISO's and dimensional training
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 plus years within the HSE profession along with related fabrication and oil and gas experience.
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and auditor safety software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.
- Understanding of federal and state regulations, including OSHA and BSEE
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers
- Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback
Desirable Experience/Training
- Technical degree in health and safety or a related field may be preferred, or equivalent experience in Safety Management
- Bi-lingual a plus (English & Spanish)
