HSE Advisor – Process Safety - Submarines

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HSE Advisor to work within our process safety team in Derby.
As a HSE Advisor you will be responsible for the Coordination and implementation of process Safety arrangements to manage RRSL's High Consequence Hazards and ensure key statutory and regulatory requirements are met. Undertake HS&E assurance and improvements in support of RRSL’s priorities. Be part of a team to deliver HSE advice, assurance, tools and improvements and be proactive in seeking out emerging issues. Work collaboratively with Business HS&E and the wider HS&E function to ensure alignment to Business and Functional strategies.
What you will be doing:
Responsible for advising the business on Process Safety, provision of arrangements to manage high consequence complex hazards, facilitate improvement programme and assure Process Safety compliance.
Support the business manage its COMAH risks and compliance with COMAH regulations.
Maintain good risk management, including up to date business risk profiles and recommend risk-based improvement programmes, consistent with business or wider programmes as appropriate. Ensure HS&E critical controls are identified, managed (including through appropriate maintenance programmes) and effectively assured.
Set expectations and lead by example on the HS&E Journey to Zero Harm. Lead improvements to process safety by proposing and implementing changes.
Co-ordinate risk-based assurance, including compliance with legal and other requirements..
Support delivery of good HS&E governance across the business, including the HS&E Accountability Framework, in partnership with management.
Position Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is/has:
HSE related professional certificates
Chartered or working towards chartered membership of IOSH / IEMA
Experienced in providing HSE advice and risk-based solutions
Experience working with and applying COMAH Regulations
Experience in applying process safety applications to manage complex HSE risks

The professional level and the salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
