THE JOB:

As an HRSS Tier 2 - Absence Management Specialist, you'll play a vital role in administering leave processes across the organization while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations like FMLA, ADA, and USERRA. You’ll leverage technology and digital platforms to manage cases, administer leave, and communicate with healthcare providers. Your work will drive operational efficiency, uphold company policies, and deliver exceptional customer service.


THE STARTING RATE:

  • $21.00 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Respond to cases and leave requests in the case management system accurately and within SLA using clear and professional communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State absence management regulations, including ADA, FMLA, and related laws.
  • Review medical certifications to determine eligibility under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  • Maintain accurate records of leave claims to meet audit requirements.
  • Manage paid time off entries for exempt employees and attendance entries for hourly employees.
  • Collaborate with HR Service Center teams to address escalated leave inquiries.
  • Provide guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on medical certification requirements, return-to-work dates, and fitness-for-duty standards, escalating issues as needed.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding FMLA, General Medical Leave, and ADA using the case management tool.
  • Work with HR partners and property managers to identify and address patterns of FMLA abuse or overutilization.
  • Verify and interpret medical information provided by healthcare providers.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to streamline and expedite leave requests.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Prior administering leave experience.

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of FMLA and other federal and state leave of absence laws.

  • Prior experience working with human capital management and case management systems such as Workday and NeoCase.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Proficient with making calls using multi-phone lines or systems such as Avaya.
