POSITION OVERVIEW
The HRIS Manager I is responsible for supervising and developing HRIS team members, managing workload distribution, setting strategic direction and fostering a collaborative and customer-service–oriented team culture. They will also be responsible for the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Gentex Human Resource Information System for both US and international use.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Oversee the accuracy, integrity, and security of HR data across systems.
- Ensure timely execution of key HRIS processes such as system updates, audits, user support, and data reporting.
- Research, evaluate and compare existing processes to identify areas of improvement.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex issues or data discrepancies that the team cannot resolve independently.
- Collaborate with other HR functional groups such as Benefits, Recruiting, and Talent Development to optimize system configurations and support strategic initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the team and with HR and business partners.
- Partner with IT and external vendors to support integrations, system maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of HRIS professionals.
- Set clear performance goals for team members, providing continuous feedback and coaching to support professional growth and achieve departmental objectives.
- Supervise and manage staff, with responsibilities including, but not limited to, hiring, onboarding, evaluating performance, communicating expectations, and handling and/or supporting disciplinary actions of team members pursuant to Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Balancing stakeholders – Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Listening to understand and prioritizing requirements while keeping the stakeholders updated on project status.
- Mentoring and coaching - Providing timely guidance and feedback (both positive and constructive) to help others recognize strengths and development opportunities. Inviting tough conversations.
- Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HRIS or HR systems administration.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one major HRIS platform (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, UKG).
- Experience working with executive leadership teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
WHAT WILL HELP
- Proficiency with Workday HRIS platform.
- HRIS certification (e.g., Workday Pro, Oracle Cloud, SAP, or similar).
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
