Purpose of the Role
We are searching for a Human Resources Business Partner to establish and maintain effective and efficient HR business partnering, management, and development practices. As a trusted advisor to the Mill and Business Unit, you will leverage talent development processes to fulfil short-term business needs with a diverse talent pipeline. You will partner with operational and functional managers to provide expert HR advice, coaching, and solutions that support workforce and major change initiatives. The role is essential in integrating corporate HR policy, facilitating effective workforce practices, and managing functional duties within the region or business unit.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Advise managers on conduct, misconduct, and disciplinary/grievance processes
- Ensure statutory compliance, participate in labor consultations, and manage CCMA referrals
- Foster collaborative working, build relationships with organized labor, unions, and regulatory bodies
Resourcing
- Manage recruitment workflow, coordinate recruitment activities, interviews, and staff inductions
- Conduct probation reviews, employee evaluations, and terminations
- Update role profiles and process employment offers
Talent Management
- Manage performance appraisal, IDP, PDP, Org and Talent process, and EE Agenda
- Analyze workforce data and implement performance management systems
- Facilitate workforce interventions, succession planning, and employment equity compliance
Learning and Development
- Compile annual training matrices, update records, and coordinate training interventions
- Monitor training impact and address workforce development needs
Change and Industrial Wellness (CSI)
- Lead wellness and CSI programs, embed change initiatives, and align communication plans
HR Administration and Reporting
- Manage onboarding, exit interviews, and HR systems
- Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity
- Advise on HR policy, compliance, and prepare management/statutory reports
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Quality of HR advice and staff/manager engagement
- Practitioner performance standards and compliance
- Number of outstanding disciplinary cases
- Training impact, absenteeism rates, accuracy and completeness of HR records/data
Qualification and Experience Required
- Minimum NQF Level 6 Qualification in Human Resource Management
- Valid Code EB driver's license
- At least 5 years' experience as an HR generalist
