Technical Recruiter Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand the needs and roles to be filled; review job descriptions for vacancies
  • Assist with the development and revision of specifications and job descriptions for selected positions
  • Identify the most effective methods for recruiting and attracting candidates
  • Draft recruitment advertisements; posts and/or places ads in the most effective digital and/or print media for open positions
  • Select placement agencies to assist with the recruitment process
  • Identify appropriate candidates and assesses their qualifications through review of their resumes, interviews, and other forms of communications
  • Connect qualified candidates with hiring managers
  • Maintain contact with candidates throughout the hiring cycle
  • Vet potential employees credentials
  • Provide advice to hiring managers regarding salary negotiations with final candidates
  • Facilitate contacts by creating and maintaining a presence in the technical/industry community and marketplace
  • Attend job fairs and industry conferences; run company booths at job fairs

 

Technical Recruiter Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Thorough understanding of technology, technical roles, and technical skills. 
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ATS 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical and/or human resources field required
  • At least three years of technical recruiting experience required
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred

But what does that look like when remote teams aren’t working under the same roof? “We have a team called PEP which stands for ‘People Experience with Purpose,’” she said. That means whether it’s a win, anniversary or personal milestone, it won’t be getting overlooked. Keeping teams tight-knit has also led to the hosting of virtual wellness workshops and, most recently, a peer-voted awards ceremony. “Although we’re working in different parts of the country, we can celebrate all the success stories — together.”
