SUMMARY
The Sr. Manager oversees a team that is an extension of the HR Business Partner function. This team's primary responsibility is to help the organization improve performance across Spectrum Reach. In doing so, this role works closely with HR Business Partners, people leaders and employees to ensure a fair, effective and consistent approach to performance management, corrective action and employee dispute resolutions within Spectrum Reach This team hands off EEOC related subject matter and allegations to the Corporate Employee Relations Center Of Excellence.
This function provides guidance on company policies, practices, and state/federal employment laws and works closely with Recruiting, Learning, and HR Business partners to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions to elevate the performance of the organization.
The Sr. Manager oversees and creates sustainable workflows and best practices for the HR team. This critical role helps the HR function continue to mitigate company risk, while at the same time helps to improve the overall performance and employee experience at Spectrum Reach.
JOB DUTIES

  • Oversees team members with a focus on performance improvement across Spectrum Reach.
  • Counsels and guides leaders and employees in the areas of performance management, corrective action procedures and dispute resolution.
  • Identifies gaps in training and recommends broad solutions for the organization to implement as needed.
  • Work closely with other HR leaders to elevate the performance of the organization through best practice sharing.
  • Provides guidance and support to HR on escalated concerns and complaints relating to various employee matters.
  • Develops close relationships with the Employee Relations Center of Excellence to ensure a smooth handoff of matters beyond the scope of the Business Unit (such as EEOC related topics).
  • Serves as liaison with internal Legal counsel as needed.
  • Participates in establishing Human Resources/Employee Relations strategy and works closely with HR, Recruiting, and Learning teams to influence the ongoing improvement of Spectrum Reach performance practices and our culture.
  • Oversees practices and workflows to ensure HR professionals and leaders within Spectrum Reach are being consistent in their approach to performance management and employee dispute resolution.
  • Analyzes ER data/metrics for themes, trends and root cause identification. Shares findings and potential mitigating strategies with key partners.
  • Responsible for project ownership as needed to include training, research, and other projects that support the business.
  • Supervises HR professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of progressive experience as an HR or legal professional. A concentration in employee relations and performance management work is a plus.
  • Prior management experience is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated strong written/verbal communication and facilitation/presentation skills.
  • Strong consultative and assessment skills are needed. Ability to quickly assess documents and make decisions based on limited information.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex employee issues in a confidential, objective, and systematic manner.
  • Examples of project work related to performance management improvements, employee relations, morale improvement and risk mitigation are critical.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively and influencing at all levels within the organization, and making decisions while keeping partners and leaders informed is essential.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • A PHR or equivalent certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
