Director, People Analytics
Our Opportunity:
At Chewy, data drives all of our decision-making, and our HR organization is no exception. Chewy is looking for a Director, People Analytics to join our HR Operations Team based in Dania Beach, FL. This is a new crucial role for our Enterprise People Analytics team and our journey to establish a roadmap which includes business intelligence, data warehousing and data visualization standards for Human Resources. This role will lead the efforts to build out the product roadmap for data science, analytics and reporting within HR through, ultimately influencing HR leaders to make evidence-based decisions that change behavior and drive business results.
The candidate for this role needs to be able to navigate complex organizational dynamics and work with a wide variety of partners while balancing speed and rigor in achieving their roadmap. The key stakeholders within HR include all COEs (such as Recruiting, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Total Rewards, DE&I, and Employee Relations) and our Business Partner teams in the field supporting our Fulfillment Centers, Customer Service, and Corporate teams. External key stakeholders include Finance and IT Corporate Systems.
What you’ll do:
- Build and deliver the product roadmap to meet your customers’ needs, ensuring reporting solutions, analytical tools, and dashboards deliver actionable and accurate data and insights to end users.
- Manage the intake and prioritization process for the portfolio of enterprise people analytics products through the Enterprise People Analytics governance committee which aligns HR stakeholders on priorities in support of their product requests.
- Owns the software delivery lifecycle for Enterprise People Analytics products - spanning projects which execute on requests from clients, working with IT to set up or build products, and working with business process owners to ensure the data within the enterprise systems are accurate, complete and provide quality results and insights.
- Responsible for Enterprise People Analytics Monthly Business Review.
- Owns the enterprise HR data strategy, roadmap, and prioritization of development sprints for the IT team within the HR Data Mart.
- Leads the team to build and/or maintain a data architecture to enable the enterprise HR data strategy.
- Governs data access for integrations, dashboards, reporting – through formal approval process. Approves Change Control for any new implementations to production.
- Develop the enterprise data and analytic service strategy to build the appropriate tools to support enterprise HR data, reporting and analytics.
- Ensure all company, international, national, local, and other applicable data security, privacy and compliance requirements are met.
- Creates standard procedures and integrates practices and processes into day-to-day operations management.
- Work with our HR technology, IT, Product and Process teams to develop ad hoc and technology enabled solutions within the portfolio.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, Product Management, Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years progressive experience in predictive modeling, business intelligence, large data reporting analysis, supporting HRIS or related systems.
- 7+ years’ experience communicating the results of analysis with product and leadership teams to influence strategy.
- 7+ years’ experience successfully managing multiple priorities & projects through successful delivery & implementation under time, budget, and political pressure.
- In-depth understanding of the Agile principles and methodologies and how they’re applied in workplace culture.
- Working knowledge and understanding of technology systems and the ecosystem the team works to partner with IT on the technical strategy and help the team in overcoming roadblocks (i.e., AWS Redshift, S3, Athena, Vertica, Tableau, ETL tools).
- Knowledge and hands-on creation of key artifacts including use cases, user stories, user acceptance criteria, or specifications.
- Working knowledge of data and reporting from systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, Kronos, and Hyperion
- Experience building and maintaining data architecture
- Able to solve complex problems and take a critical perspective on existing solutions
- Must excel working in teams that rely on ability to collaborate with others
- Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Superb communication, collaboration, team dynamics, and conflict resolution
- Experience working with internal and external customers
- Proven presentation and facilitation skills
