The company has two core businesses, The Machine Clothing segment is the world’s leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts essential to production in the paper, nonwovens, and other process industries and Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is a rapidly growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry.

 

Job Purpose

As the HR - Total Rewards - Corporate Intern, you will work closely with the Director of Total Rewards to support the evaluation, development, and implementation, of Total Rewards - Compensation and Benefits programs. Responsibilities & Key Areas
  • Along with the responsibilities listed below, the Total Rewards Intern will be responsible for a project to enhance Albany International’s Total Rewards Initiatives.
  • Assist in generation of training materials: Support the design and creation of training materials and presentations for Albany's employee benefits programs.
  • Assist with plan management: Develop processes to monitor the cost of employee benefit programs and ensure on-going compliance with Albany’s procurement policies.
  • Invoicing Support: Create a PO and invoice tracking process for the Total Rewards department.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Help maintain records and reports of total rewards activities, and feedback.
  • Employee Feedback & Evaluation: Gather feedback from employees and help analyze results to improve future training programs.
  • Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in Total Rewards, suggesting new approaches for the company’s programs.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate and support in additional tasks that arise within the HR team, depending on the company’s needs and the intern’s experience.
  • Other activities as needed.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Experience / Characteristics / Competencies & EducationQualifications:Education and Experience:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Education, or a related field, with at least two years of coursework completed.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Location: Portsmouth, NH, full-time in office, 9/80 schedule: Week 1: 9 hours Mon–Thu, 8 hours Friday. Week 2: Work 9 hours Mon–Thu.
Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications
  • Strong interest in HR Subjects related to Total Rewards: Compensation, Benefits.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute.
  • Basic understanding of human resources principles and practices, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.

Skills Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Education, or a related field, with at least two years of coursework completed.
