About the Role

The HR & Talent Acquisition Manager serves as the primary HR leader for a family of engineering and consulting companies, providing strategic and hands-on support across all aspects of human resources, recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development.

This role partners closely with executive leadership to develop HR strategies that support business objectives while managing the day-to-day execution of recruiting, employee lifecycle processes, policy administration, compliance, compensation, performance management, and culture initiatives. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, balancing strategic initiatives with administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for exempt, non-exempt, technical, engineering, field, administrative, and leadership positions across multiple companies.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies, identify staffing needs, and deliver high-quality talent.
  • Source, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates while managing all aspects of the hiring process through onboarding.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines, employment branding initiatives, and relationships with universities, industry organizations, and recruiting partners.
  • Serve as the primary HR advisor to employees and leadership on employee relations, performance management, coaching, investigations, corrective action, and terminations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices across multiple states.
  • Administer employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, organizational changes, and offboarding.
  • Manage leave administration, workplace accommodations, and other employee support programs.
  • Oversee background checks, employment eligibility verification, and other pre-employment compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate required employee training programs and support compliance initiatives, including EEO and affirmative action efforts.
  • Partner with leadership on compensation analysis, salary recommendations, job descriptions, and organizational planning.
  • Coordinate performance review processes and support employee development initiatives.
  • Administer HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and maintain accurate HR records and reporting.
  • Generate recruiting and HR metrics to support workforce planning and business decisions.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, and culture-building efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with HR vendors, including background screening, benefits, and recruiting partners.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Perform other related duties and strategic HR initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant full-cycle recruiting responsibilities. 
  • Experience supporting multiple business entities or locations preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and HR best practices. 
  • Experience advising leadership on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and compliance. 
  • Experience developing HR policies, employee handbooks, and organizational procedures. 
  • Proficiency with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Paycom experience preferred). 
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, project management, and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
