Job Summary
The human resource specialist facilitates the human resource processes specifically with respect to training and development, recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, employee engagement and community engagement. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Essential Job Functions
- Schedules, coordinates, plans and administers the bank’s training function as it relates to professional development and personal growth of all employees in the bank
- Including various professional trainings for general development applicable to all
- Also including various system specific and certification trainings scheduling and coordination (i.e. Jack Henry)
- Administers the bank’s recruiting efforts by posting all available positions and advertising them as needed.
- Maintain candidate flow and a candidate talent pool for future positions.
- Performs the entirety of the onboarding process including initial resume/application screening through the bank’s talent acquisition system, scheduling interviews, preparing offer letters and seeking appropriate approvals, conducting background checks, coordinating a new hire’s first day and training schedule and communication with payroll of all new hires to ensure prompt addition to the payroll system.
- Performs conversion of applicants to employees through the bank’s HRIS
- Complete and maintain all Form I-9s and compliance required documentation
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Serving as the back up in payroll processing and benefits administration
- Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
- Schedules meetings and interviews as the recruiting process requires.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Maintains high level and strict confidentiality guidelines in all aspects, including board and confidential employee and bank matters.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality (whether virtually or in person) which are critical in order to complete the day to day tasks of this position.
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise of office and project management guidelines and supports the Bank’s overall mission, standards, policies and procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Participating in community outreach events, ensuring CBE remains the leader in community support.
- Assists in completion of community projects.
- Participates on behalf of the Bank in community and Bank-sponsored activities as requested.
- Serving as the back up to the Executive Assistant
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

Microsoft Office suite on personal computer, calculator, fax, copier, telephone, printer, and HRIS software.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily sitting at a desk with regular contact with employees and customers on the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
The employee is required to sit at a desk for most of the shift. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. QualificationsQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field or, equivalent professional experience.
- One to three years’ experience in Human Resources
- Any similar relevant combination of education and experience

- Ability to use proper judgment and make sound decisions that affect the bank.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
- One to three years' experience in Human Resources.
- Experience with HRIS (HR information systems) and HRIS data entry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of recruiting and onboarding processes, including applicant screening, offer preparation, and background checks.
- Ability to complete and maintain Form I-9s and required compliance documentation.
- Ability to provide backup support for payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, confidentiality, and good judgment.
- Detail oriented, good time management, and computer literate.
