LF Driscoll, pat of the STO Building Group, is hiring an HR Specialist in Philadelphia, PA!
The HR Specialist, Onboarding & Programs, supports the HR Director and designated business units by owning the preboarding and onboarding processes and coordinating recurring HR programs, including performance reviews, employee surveys, special events, and employee development initiatives.
This role manages the full preboarding and onboarding lifecycle, ensuring consistent, organized, and welcoming experience from offer acceptance through new-hire integration. The position also plans, coordinates, and executes recurring HR programs and annual processes, partnering with HR and business leaders to establish timelines, communicate requirements, track completion, and continuously improve program effectiveness. Workforce reporting, HR systems support, and process optimization are used to strengthen execution, maintain data integrity, and support informed decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Own and coordinate the preboarding process from offer acceptance through the employee’s first day, including required documentation, system access, equipment, workspace, and stakeholder readiness.
- Lead the onboarding process and ensure a consistent, organized, and welcoming experience for new employees.
- Develop and maintain onboarding schedules, materials, checklists, communications, and resources for new hires, managers, and internal partners.
- Partner with hiring managers, HR, IT, Payroll, and other departments to ensure timely completion of onboarding activities and resolve issues.
- Coordinate new-hire orientation and support employee integration throughout the introductory period.
- Maintain accurate onboarding records and monitor completion of required forms, training, and compliance activities.
- Implement follow-up processes to gather feedback, measure onboarding effectiveness, identify trends, and improve the employee experience.
- Support system-enabled processes related to onboarding, performance management, and other recurring HR programs.
HR Program Management
- Plan and coordinate recurring HR programs and annual processes, including performance reviews, employee surveys, special events, and employee development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain program timelines, work plans, communications, materials, and tracking tools to support timely and consistent execution.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to confirm program requirements, roles, milestones, and deliverables.
- Communicate program expectations, deadlines, and updates to employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor participation, completion, and outstanding actions; follow up with stakeholders and resolve administrative or process issues.
- Coordinate logistics and resources for employee programs and events, including scheduling, materials, invitations, and participant support.
- Maintain accurate program records, templates, standard procedures, and system data in accordance with organizational requirements.
- Collect and analyze feedback and program data, prepare status updates, and recommend improvements to strengthen effectiveness and the employee experience.
- Support the implementation of new HR initiatives and enhancements to existing programs, processes, and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience as an HR Generalist, HR Specialist, or similar HR role with demonstrated exposure to HR systems and analytics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present HR data to support decision-making.
- Experience with HR technology platforms such as Oracle, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar systems.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting priorities.
