Job Description

This role combines system administration, development, and functional expertise, focusing specifically on the ServiceNow Human Resource Service Delivery (HRSD) suite, particularly the Onboarding (lifecycle events) and Employee Service Center (main portal) modules.

The ideal candidate will ensure that the platform is configured, maintained, monitored, and continuously improved to optimize HR service delivery and the overall employee experience.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities and Administration

Platform Maintenance:

  • Perform routine system administration tasks, including managing user accounts, roles, security access (ACL), and application scopes specific to HRSD.

  • Monitor and resolve integration-related issues.

End-user support:

  • Provide user support, including password resets and assistance with onboarding cases/tasks.

Configuration management:

  • Configure and maintain key HRSD components such as HR profiles, case management, and knowledge management workflows.

Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to the HRSD application, integrations, and the Employee Service Center portal.

Reporting and analytics:

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using native ServiceNow and Performance Analytics tools to provide insights into HR services activity.

Access Control and Authentication:

  • Manage user authentication by integrating identity providers, configuring single sign-on (SSO), and enforcing multi-factor authentication (MFA).

  • Conduct regular reviews of access, roles, and permissions to ensure they are appropriate.

Updates and patches:

  • Coordinate and execute platform updates and patches while minimizing disruption to HR services;

  • Assess update readiness, develop test plans, execute regression testing, and resolve conflicts or broken customizations prior to release.

HR module development and customization

Onboarding/Life cycle events:

  • Design, configure, and maintain life cycle events and activity sets for the onboarding process.

  • Develop and configure HR services and associated record producers.

  • Maintain and update existing document templates.

Employee Service Center Portal:

  • Develop and customize the Employee Center portal with technologies such as UI Builder;

  • Manage and maintain portal content and functionality;

  • Ensure compliance with content governance, user criteria, and personalized experiences.

Core Development:

  • Maintain, develop, and customize functionality using platform scripting languages (Business Rules, JavaScript, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, UI Actions);

  • Oversee and monitor integrations with other HR systems (REST/SOAP APIs and Integration Hub).

Collaboration and Lifecycle

  • Gather requirements from HR stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions;

  • Follow software development life cycle (SDLC) best practices: requirements analysis, design, configuration, unit testing, and deployment preparation;

  • Create and execute comprehensive test plans (unit and regression) and support user acceptance testing (UAT);

  • Implement changes in production.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years as a ServiceNow administrator and/or developer, with strong expertise in the HRSD suite;

  • Certifications: CSA (Certified System Administrator) and CIS-HRSD (Certified Implementation Specialist – HRSD) desired;

  • Solid knowledge of HRSD modules (case management, knowledge management, lifecycle events);

  • Experience in customization and development for the Service Portal/Employee Center (widgets, themes, pages);

  • Ability to maintain existing HR services related to lifecycle events, document templates, cases, and tasks;

  • The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required, as the person will be required to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners outside Quebec.
