Job Summary
Provides HR support across the organization. Pro-active and day to day activities will primarily be in areas such as performance management, organizational and employee development, compensation, staffing, and employee relations. Recommend and implement HR strategic and tactical plans to support the achievement of business initiatives. Provide input/feedback to strategy development on workforce/talent management issues and potential solutions. Serve as a first line of defense to mitigate risk of HR-related issues for the organization.
Essential Functions
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with management to generate value-added services to maximize HR contribution to the organization.
- Recommend and implement HR strategic and tactical plans to support the obtainment of business goals and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support organizational change initiatives and assist in driving change initiatives into the operations.
- Consult with management on people and organizational issues.
- Interpret policies and provide appropriate guidance.
- Provide guidance on and drive resolution of employee relations issues, including compliance/legal issues, performance management, and conflict situations.
- Advise and ensure appropriate documentation is developed.
- Serve as first line of defense to mitigate risk for HR-related issues for the organization.
- Ensure all issues are resolved in a legal and ethical manner.
- Manage the development of EEO/AAP plans and objectives.
- Direct the development and administration of programs to achieve the recruitment, development and advancement of AAP objectives.
- Work with the managers to develop staffing tactics and strategies.
- Recruit and interview, as needed, for key positions.
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of HR and/or Internal strategy and improvement projects.
- Conduct annually updates to compensation programs, such as, participation in salary surveys, analyze compensation, etc.
- Work on various other HR projects which will be defined by the needs of the organization in a particular year.
- Interface between legal, federal, state and local government representatives and ZOLL on issues involving employees.
- Occasional travel required.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
- 10+ years of industry experience, medical device experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of federal/state employment laws and a solid understanding of general HR practices, laws and regulations required.
- Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation and facilitation) skills.
- Strong Interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate; resolve conflicts and coach managers and employees, and work in a team-based environment.
- Sound business acumen and the ability to establish credibility, trust and partnership at all levels within the organization.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills required.
- Strong initiative, creativity and ability to work effectively within sometimes ambiguous situations.
- Must be results oriented, customer-focused and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
