Key Responsibilities
Lead Investigations & Case Management: Oversee and manage all employee relations cases, from initial intake to final resolution. This includes complex and highly sensitive investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and train a team of HR Generalists, enhancing their skills in conducting effective investigations, documenting cases, and providing sound HR guidance.
Policy & Compliance: Serve as a subject matter expert on employment law and company policy. Ensure all investigative and case management procedures are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
Risk Mitigation: Identify and analyze trends in employee relations issues to proactively address systemic problems and mitigate organizational risk. Provide recommendations to senior leadership on policy changes and training needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with legal counsel, business leaders, and other HR teams to ensure a collaborative and comprehensive approach to case resolution and to provide clear, consistent communication throughout the process.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous and confidential records of all investigations and employee relations cases. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on case metrics and trends.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, compliance, fraud risk management, or internal audit.
Proven track record of conducting end-to-end investigations (from intake to closure) involving fraud, misconduct, conflicts of interest, policy breaches, or ethical concerns.
Experience working in HR, compliance, legal, or corporate security functions within medium to large organizations.
Exposure to fraud risk indicators, red flags, and investigative techniques in employee-related cases.
Experience in preparing clear, defensible reports with findings and recommendations for leadership.
Familiarity with handling sensitive, confidential information and balancing employee fairness with organizational risk.
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders (HR, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Finance, Operations).
Exceptional skills in conflict resolution, de-escalation, and fact-finding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely to various audiences.
Strong analytical skills to identify trends and solve complex problems.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
