SUMMARY: The HR Project Leader – Integrations will lead and support the integration of Human Resources processes, systems, and programs across VSE Aviation and newly acquired businesses. This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless transition and alignment of HR operations including HRIS, benefits, payroll, talent management, employee relations, and compliance.

The individual will partner closely with HR leadership, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to implement integration strategies that enable organizational growth and operational efficiency. This role will oversee project planning, change management, and communication efforts related to HR integrations and transformations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong HR functional knowledge across multiple disciplines, project management expertise, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization. This position requires a strategic, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple initiatives while ensuring positive employee experiences during integration efforts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the planning and execution of HR integration initiatives related to acquisitions, organizational restructuring, and HR transformation projects.
  • Translate HR strategic objectives into operational project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage integration project timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables across multiple HR workstreams.
  • Partner with HR sub functions including, HR Partners, Total Rewards, HRIS, Payroll, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement, and Talent Acquisition to ensure consistent integration execution.
  • Coordinate integration of HR systems, policies, processes, and employee programs to ensure alignment with company standards and compliance requirements.
  • Assess HR structures, policies, systems, and programs within newly acquired organizations and develop integration strategies and decision frameworks to align them with VSE standards while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Develop and implement HR change management strategies to support employees and leadership during organizational transitions.
  • Facilitate communication and engagement strategies to ensure employees understand integration-related changes.
  • Track and monitor integration milestones, risks, and issues, and provide regular updates to HR leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Integration teams, Finance, IT, Legal, and business leaders to ensure alignment across integration initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate project meetings, working groups, and integration workshops.
  • Analyze HR operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, HR policies, and company governance standards during integrations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, or related field
    • or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR functions such as HR operations, HRIS, talent management, employee relations, or total rewards
  • Experience supporting organizational change, HR transformation initiatives, or large-scale HR projects
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze HR data and translate insights into actionable solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • Experience supporting M&A HR integrations or organizational change initiatives
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (Workday, UKG, SAP, Paycom, or similar systems)
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
  • Experience working in a global or multi-location organization
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar platforms to manage HR project workflows, track milestones, and drive cross-functional accountability
