Human Resources Program Manager

ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in Delaware is searching for a dynamic Human Resources Program Manager of Joint Ventures and Integrations to help us grow our footprint, implement new care models, and collaborate with expert industry partners to deliver healthcare.

The Program Manager will lead projects, analyze data, and create business proposals while partnering with Business Development, Legal and Talent Acquisition. This individual must be comfortable leading in an environment with tight deadlines and a significant level of ambiguity.

***This is an individual contributor role and does not have direct reports.

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, day shift
  • No weekends or holidays
  • Remote with potential to be on site infrequently.

Key Responsibilities

  • To partner with Clinical Enterprise leadership to align HR strategic planning and outcomes with the growth and business goals of the organization and or joint venture.
  • Review and identify potential HR risks and liabilities which could impact the deal valuation and/or integration.
  • Responsible for understanding the deal structure as it pertains to a specific Business Unit or market as defined by the Business Development Team. Translate business development and/or BU requirements into HR project plans for the various HR functional groups to lead and execute.
  • Reviews the completed analysis of payroll, benefits and employee policies and procedures, including but not limited to, employee census file, employee handbook and policies, employment agreements, compensation plan and pay policies, short-term and long-term incentive compensation plans, paid time off plans and accruals, 401(k)/403B, and other defined contribution or defined benefit retirement plans, and health and welfare plans and policy documents, and HR-related litigation.
  • Review completed associated due diligence summaries and HR Department Reports provided to diligence team, employee benefits & compensation comparison, as needed.
  • Partner with Business Development, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and all HR COE’s as needed to develop and execute HR plans.
  • Review and identify potential HR risks and liabilities which could impact the deal valuation and/or integration.
  • Consults with the diligence and integration team when gaps exist in the aggregate on benefits, factoring in timing of close and terms of purchase agreement or integration.
  • Provides input and recommendations on benefits transition strategy and cost including making recommendations in collaboration with benefits leadership on transition approach for caregivers including any buyouts for loss of benefits.
  • Consider policies and practices with sensitivity or regulatory requirements (e.g., ethical, safety/environmental, multi-state) of parent company (i.e. CCHS) that need to be maintained and consider where business needs may be better met by other policies and program (e.g., working hours, compensation plans/differentials/special pay, benefits, etc.,)

Position Qualifications

  • B.S. in HR, Business, or relevant field with seven years’ experience in HR or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience leading projects, analysis data, creating proposals preferred.
  • Previous experience with acquisitions or joint ventures preferred.
  • Desire to continue education including certification from SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM- SCP) or HRCI (PHR or SPHR) / CEBS preferred.
