This internship offers exposure to policy development, compliance monitoring, audit processes, and cross-functional collaboration. The HR Policy Intern will gain practical experience in risk management and compliance practices within a corporate environment.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance Monitoring & Updates: Provide support with tracking changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist the team with basic research, data entry, and communication of updates for HR policy review.
- Project Support: Assist with organizing project files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining project documentation for HR policy initiatives. Support the team in preparing materials and coordinating deliverables related to legislative changes and corrective actions.
- Policy Development & Implementation: Support senior team members with the preparation of drafts, organization of materials, and updates to internal documentation for HR policies and procedures. Assist with distributing policy materials and collecting feedback as directed.
- Compliance Audits & Assessments: Support quality reviews and monitoring activities related to HR policy implementation. Assist in documenting findings and maintaining audit records as directed.
- Guidance, Training & Education: Assist with assembling and formatting training materials, presentations, and communications for HR policy initiatives. Coordinate scheduling and logistics with COEs and other business units as directed.
- Documentation & Recordkeeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of compliance activities, monitoring efforts, and project documentation.
- Collaboration: Work with senior team members to support coordination and communication with HR, Legal, and other business units related to policy compliance activities and corrective actions as assigned.
- Risk Management: Assist with documentation of potential compliance risks and assist in efforts to strengthen organizational compliance practices as directed.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in a relevant field (Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Policy, or an acceptable equivalent)
- Demonstrate an understanding of operational and business concepts, risk assessment practices, and internal controls
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, required to deal with all levels of management
- Demonstrate project management and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail
