Renishaw is seeking an HR & Payroll Advisor to support HR and payroll services for the Ireland business. This varied role covers payroll and benefits administration, employee lifecycle activity, HR systems, recruitment support, employee relations, and HR guidance for managers and employees.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role will work closely with local management, Group HR and external specialists to ensure HR and payroll processes are accurate, compliant, well controlled and delivered to a high standard.

Responsibilities

Payroll and Benefits

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and within statutory deadlines.

  • Maintain payroll data, including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, deductions, statutory payments and other adjustments.

  • Validate and reconcile payroll information before processing.

  • Cross-check payroll data against Workday to ensure employee records are accurate and up to date.

  • Administer employee medical insurance schemes, pension deductions and related employee queries.

  • Ensure compliance with Revenue reporting requirements, payroll legislation and company policies.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and Group Internal Controls on payroll processes and controls.

  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.

  • Support payroll process improvements to improve efficiency, accuracy and compliance.

HR Support

  • Maintain accurate employee records in Workday, ensuring lifecycle changes are processed promptly and accurately.

  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures and employment matters, with support from external HR specialists and Group HR where required.

  • Support inclusive recruitment activity, including agency liaison, CV management, interview coordination, employment documentation and onboarding.

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding administration to support a positive employee experience.

  • Maintain and update policies, Standard Operating Procedures and employee handbook documentation.

  • Prepare company notices and HR communications.

  • Manage overseas travel requirements for employees.

  • Support annual HR activities, including performance reviews, pay review processes, absence management and employee welfare initiatives.

  • Promote employee wellbeing by providing guidance and signposting to appropriate support.

  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with employment legislation and best practice.

  • Keep up to date with employment legislation, payroll regulations and Revenue reporting requirements.

  • Build effective relationships with local management, Group HR and external HR specialists.
     

Key requirements

  • Experience in an HR role with payroll administration responsibility.

  • Experience processing weekly and monthly payroll to deadlines.

  • Working knowledge of local tax laws, filing obligations and reporting deadlines.

  • CIPD Level 5 and/or IPASS Certificate in Payroll Techniques, or working towards.

  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation, GDPR, payroll processes and Revenue reporting requirements.

  • Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.

  • Strong IT skills, including Excel.

  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and data governance.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Experience advising managers on employee relations matters, including attendance, performance, conduct and capability.

  • Ability to build effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities accurately.

Desirable requirements

  • Experience supporting HR cyclical processes, including performance, compensation and absence management.

  • Awareness of Irish gender pay gap reporting requirements and the EU Pay Transparency Directive.

  • Experience using Workday or another HR Information System.

  • Experience supporting continuous improvement of HR processes and administration.
