Job DescriptionRole Purpose
The HR Partner - Reward & Benefits is responsible for supporting SGS Malaysia's compensation, benefits, rewards, and employee wellbeing initiatives. The role partners closely with business leaders, HR colleagues, and external vendors to ensure that reward programs remain competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with SGS's business objectives and talent strategy.
The incumbent will provide expertise in compensation benchmarking, salary review processes, benefits administration, incentive programs, employee mobility support, and HR analytics while ensuring compliance with local labor regulations and SGS policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SGS Malaysia's compensation and benefits strategy.
- Manage annual salary review, bonus, incentive, and merit increase processes.
- Conduct market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
- Analyze compensation trends and provide recommendations to management on reward-related matters.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including medical insurance, wellness initiatives, leave benefits, retirement schemes, and other employee offerings.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers, benefit providers, and external vendors to ensure smooth delivery of benefit programs.
- Support job evaluation, grading, salary structure reviews, and compensation governance activities.
- Provide reward and benefits advisory support to HR Business Partners, line managers, and business leaders.
- Prepare compensation analysis, workforce metrics, HR dashboards, and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, taxation requirements, social security regulations, and internal SGS policies.
- Support expatriate compensation and mobility-related activities where applicable.
- Participate in HR transformation, digitalization, process improvement, and employee experience initiatives.
- Maintain accurate employee reward and benefit records within HR systems.
- Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate implementation of compensation and benefits changes.
- Support internal and external audits relating to compensation and benefits administration.
- Promote fairness, transparency, and consistency in reward practices across the organization.
- Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by upholding good safety behaviour and exercising necessary standards and processes when carrying out responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager and/or Senior Management.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or related discipline.
- Professional certification in Compensation & Benefits, Total Rewards, Human Resources, or related field would be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Human Resources experience, with at least 3 years in Compensation, Benefits, Total Rewards, HR Operations, or HR Business Partnering.
- Experience managing salary reviews, benefits administration, and reward programs.
- Experience conducting salary benchmarking and market analysis.
- Familiarity with Malaysian employment legislation, taxation, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and employee benefits practices.
- Experience working in a multinational organization is preferred.
- Experience using HRIS systems and HR analytics tools is an advantage.
