ABOUT THIS POSITION
Location: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in office) in Arlington, VA
The HR Operations Generalist plays a key role in supporting HR operations, ensuring that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role covers a broad range of HR functions, including employee data management, benefits administration, payroll coordination, compliance, and providing general support to employees and managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a customer service mindset.

Key Responsibilities
HR Operations and Administration:
Auditing employee information in Workday and ADP, ensuring data integrity and escalating to Payroll when data changes are needed (U.S.).
Generate and analyze reports from HR systems to support compliance and decision-making needs.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday and ADP functionality, troubleshooting issues, and recommending process improvements
Assist employees with benefit inquiries, escalating issues to the Benefits team when necessary.
Payroll Support:
Verify payroll inputs, including one-time payments, deductions, and adjustments, to ensure accuracy.
Compliance:
Support management with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Support audits of employee documentation and assist in responding to unemployment claims and garnishments.
HR Systems and Reporting:
Run regular and ad hoc reports from HR systems to support business needs.
Analyze data for trends and provide insights to HR leadership for decision-making.
Employee Tier 1 Question Support:
Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing first-level guidance on HR policies and procedures.
Escalate more complex employee relations issues to the HR Business Partner team as necessary.
Project Support:
Assist with HR projects, including policy development, process improvements, and HR systems implementations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing HR initiatives.
What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an HR role, preferably with exposure to HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes, employment laws, and best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP, Workday, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Preferred Skills
- Manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, ensuring that priorities are met without compromising quality.
- Support cross-functional HR initiatives and projects as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, maintaining quality and timeliness in deliverables.
- Approach additional tasks or special projects with a positive and solution-oriented attitude
