Position: HR Operations & Compensation Specialist
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking an experienced HR Operations & Compensation Specialist to support HR operational initiatives and lead the design, development, and administration of company-wide compensation programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring competitive, compliant, and well-structured compensation practices while supporting organizational changes, workforce planning, and continuous improvement across the employee lifecycle.

What You’ll Do:

Compensation Strategy & Program Management

  • Review, research, and recommend updates to MEPPI’s compensation programs in alignment with the company’s total rewards philosophy.
  • Monitor compensation trends, regulatory changes, and market data to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Administer compensation programs including salary structures, incentive plans, sales compensation, and annual merit processes.
  • Lead the annual compensation planning cycle, preparing analyses, recommendations, and materials for Senior Leadership.

Market Pricing & Job Architecture

  • Partner with external compensation vendors to conduct market pricing, benchmarking, and analysis.
  • Ensure job and salary structures align with market data and internal equity.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions across the organization in partnership with division leaders and HR, ensuring consistency with compensation structures and compliance standards.

HR Operations & Organizational Design

  • Support organizational design initiatives, including role evaluation, leveling, and structure mapping.
  • Lead HR operational components of reorganizations, internal promotions, role changes, and acquisitions.
  • Provide guidance to managers and HR partners on compensation policies, practices, and decision-making.

Business Planning & Workforce Support

  • Lead HR components of the annual business planning and staffing process in partnership with Finance and Planning & Administration.
  • Advise leaders on salary budgeting, headcount forecasting, and organizational changes.
  • Support acquisitions and integrations through project management and HR process alignment.

Projects, Systems & Compliance

  • Lead HR projects and initiatives by defining scope, developing work plans, and ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • Assess opportunities for HR process improvements and implement solutions using HR systems and technologies.
  • Develop and document HR procedures and processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and government reporting requirements to ensure compliance.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with a focus on compensation or related HR functions, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of compensation principles, program design, and administration.
    • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with experience interpreting quantitative data.
    • Developed knowledge of HR systems and compensation tools.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple projects simultaneously.
