Job Overview

The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the success of corporate / business support functions by delivering comprehensive HR solutions tailored to meet organizational goals. This role is integral to shaping leadership development through strategic coaching and mentorship, both for a direct report and front-line leaders. As a trusted business partner, the HR Manager ensures seamless alignment between HR strategies and business objectives, while fostering a high-performance, positive workplace culture that supports innovation and growth. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor in developing talent, enhancing employee engagement, and driving organizational excellence.

Key Job Responsibilities

Strategic Planning – Partner with business leaders to understand organizational goals and implement HR strategies that support business success.
Leadership Coaching – assist with the individual development of key leadership competencies to strengthen and reinforce a leader’s ability to effectively engage and manage teams of people  
Employee Relations – collaborate with HR professionals and business leaders to determine the most appropriate approach to employee relations issues while mitigating risks.  Achieve conflict resolution in the most fair and consistent manner that fosters employee accountability and drives operational effectiveness
Talent Strategy – work with business stakeholders to develop organizational design, human capital planning, and talent development strategies
Talent Acquisition – Partner with hiring managers and talent acquisitions specialists to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Provide coaching to hiring manager on leading interviewing practices, facilitate interviews and debrief meetings. 
Talent Development – identify solutions to bridge talent gaps through the facilitation of talent reviews and succession planning sessions 
HR Program Management & Administration – partner with COEs (who deliver programs related to Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Talent, HR Operations, HRIS) to align performance and program initiatives that support our people and Komatsu culture  
Employment Law & Compliance – ensure alignment with all Federal, State and Local employment practices, policies and standards, participate in salary and wage administration, labor practices, health safety and environmental compliance, immigration, etc.  
HR Team Development – Coach, mentor, and develop a direct report (HR Specialist/Generalist), helping them grow professionally and gain expertise in HR practices

Qualifications/Requirements

•    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; Human Resources related certification such as a PHR or SHRM-CP is strongly preferred
•    8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on leadership development, coaching, and change management. Experience supporting corporate and/or technical functions is strongly preferred. 
•    Ability to lead, develop, and motivate a direct report, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
•    Advanced knowledge of human resources related laws, regulations, etc. 
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
•    Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•    Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
•    Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
•    Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other human resources data tools. SuccessFactors experience is a plus. 
•    Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time. Regular travel between our Milwaukee and Chicago office (minimum 2 times per month) is required.

Additional Information

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $100,000-124,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
