What can you expect?
Marsh is looking for a talented HR professional to join our Asia People team based in Kuala Lumpur. In this role you will coach, advise and partner with the business and People Managers to drive people and culture initiatives that support business strategy and strengthen our colleague value proposition. You will be a key member of the Asia People function, working closely with regional colleagues and Global People Experience (HR Center of Excellence) to deliver practical HR solutions and programs.
We will count on you to:
- Design and implement people and culture initiatives aligned to business priorities and regional people objectives, including programs that enhance our employer brand, colleague value proposition, and reinforce our collective purpose.
- Partner with stakeholders on organizational design, change management and workforce planning to ensure the right talent, structure and capability for the future. Leverage metrics and analytics to inform solutions and priorities for change.
- Provide pragmatic HR business partnering on talent planning, succession, performance management and career development; champion coaching, learning and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
- Consult with People Partners to understand business perceptions and to determine best practice, continuously improving delivery methods, taking into account regional or country-specific nuances to guide the effective delivery of local initiatives.
- Advise and support People Managers on employee engagement, employee relations and performance improvement processes; compensation and benefits; collaborate with Employee Relations teams to mitigate risk and ensure consistent, compliant outcomes.
- Understand plans for business organizational change, ensuring robust and thorough planning takes place and that changes are implemented effectively. Where necessary, this will include taking a leading role in consultations with statutory bodies.
- Work with the People Experience/ COE teams to strengthen HR processes and tools (e.g., performance management, skills development, talent programs) and to translate global/ regional priorities into local execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional HR programs, build strong stakeholder relationships across the business and people function, and deliver timely HR metrics and insights.
- Manage multiple projects and ad hoc requests from stakeholders while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Be highly agile, strong collaborator, effectively navigate ambiguity, and demonstrate relentless focus on customer service to deliver excellence.
What you need to have:
- A minimum of 15 years’ HR generalist/ business partnering experience gained from a leading multinational organization.
- Proven experience in HR business partnering within a matrixed organization.
- Good commercial acumen and understanding of business.
- Strong knowledge of local labour law and HR best practices in Malaysia (and broader Asia markets, preferred).
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to coach People Managers in the business effectively through all aspects of the employee life cycle. Ability to navigate difficult and complex situations with tact.
- Strong analytical capability and comfort using HR metrics to generate actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience in organizational design, change management and talent development programs.
- Ability to work independently and in a highly matrixed environment, while juggling a multitude of stakeholders. Able to work collaboratively with local and regional team members.
- Able to manage competing priorities, work independently and act as a resourceful self-starter.
- Experience collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence or shared-service models.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in human resource or business-related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional Asian languages are preferred.
