Position Purpose:

The HR Manager (HRM) is a field-based business partner responsible for delivering end-to-end HR support across 2-6 retail stores within a district. This role is pivotal in enabling workforce performance, associate engagement, optimizing talent strategies, and supporting operational excellence. The HRM will drive high-impact HR practices that directly influence sales growth, customer satisfaction, and associate productivity, while also serving as a change agent for the modernization of field HR.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Store HR Leadership & Partnership - Serve as the primary HR contact for 2–6 stores, supporting store managers and leadership teams, and associates. Partner with the DHRM to align HR initiatives with district and company goals. Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Talent Management & Development - Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding for hourly and salaried roles within assigned stores. Support succession planning and career pathing for store associates and leaders. Facilitate training, coaching, and provide guidance to leaders with the performance management process.
  • Associate Relations & Workplace Culture - Address associate relations issues, conduct investigations, and ensure appropriate resolution. Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment. Proactively reduce associate relations and workplace risk issues.
  • HR Compliance & Risk Mitigation - Ensure consistent application of company policies and compliance with labor laws. Monitor and report on HR compliance metrics (e.g., I-9, meal periods).Support workplace violence prevention and labor relations case management.
  • Operational Excellence - Ensure Workday accuracy and partner with the HR Service Center as needed. Use data and insights to identify trends and recommend improvements. Participate in store visits and operational reviews.
     

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This Position typically reports to the District Human Resources Manager (DHRM)
  • Supports Store Managers, leadership teams and store associates within assigned stores

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel between assigned stores as needed.
  • May require overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time, depending on geographical area of store placement.
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking and standing.
     

Working Conditions:

  • Located mostly indoors. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
