SUMMARY

 
 

Partners with local business unit leaders to develop and execute comprehensive Human Resource program, including talent sourcing, recruiting, development and deployment. Plan, coordinate, and direct the administrative functions of the business unit and consult with leadership on strategic planning.

 
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 
 

  

  • Responsible for all phases of employment at business unit, including advertising, recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement,      orientation, training, and development of associates, exit interviews and unemployment compensation hearings.
  • Serves as a business partner and advisor to the General Manager and Plant management team for all employee relations and workforce planning  activities.
  • Reviews applications, performs references checks and employment verifications. Establishes and maintains qualification standards for all positions.
  • Serves as the primary source of contact to facility managers and  employees on all human resource related matters.
  • Primarily responsible for on-site employee engagement and addressing employee concerns and needs. 
  • Responsible for local compliance to work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Implements and annually updates compensation programs, rewrites job descriptions as necessary, analyzes compensation, monitors performance review process. 
  • Responsible for overseeing the progressive discipline and performance improvements plans for select associates. Works closely with corporate Human      Resources for litigation and risk mitigation. 
  • Sets up and maintains tracking systems for performance reviews, vacations, and company metrics such as turnover statistics.
  • Ensures accurate, efficient, and timely completion of HR-related  metrics and reporting.
  • Supports site benefits and insurance administration; works closely  with Group Compensation & Benefits Administrator.
  • Is a key resource for specific HR projects and supporting the human resources team across all locations.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of files, salaries, and other information of a business or personal nature.
  • Occasional overnight travel

 
 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

 
 

Education:

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business,  Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field strongly      preferred but would consider years of experience in similar role in lieu  of degree.

 
 

Experience   

  • 5+ years of human resource generalist  responsibilities or equivalent 
  • 1+ year of human resources within a manufacturing setting

  • Sit and stand as needed.
  • May require walking on a level  surface for periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulders, below  waist and lifting as required to file documents or store materials.

Work Environment: 

  • Typical office setting 
  • May require you to enter a manufacturing environment that requires proper PPE including safety shoes,      safety glasses and hearing protection. 
  • Manufacturing environment may be  loud, hot/cold depending on season

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of human resources generalist responsibilities
  • 1+ year of human resources experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement, orientation, training, and exit processes
  • Experience handling unemployment compensation hearings
  • Employee relations and workforce planning advisory experience for plant/operations management
  • Experience supporting benefits and insurance administration
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organization, attention to detail, and time management
  • Analytical, problem-solving, mathematical and deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel and business information
  • Willingness/ability to travel occasionally with overnight stays
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and enter manufacturing environment using required PPE
  • Experience with HR systems tracking performance reviews, time off, and turnover metrics
