Quanex is looking for a HR Intern - Total Rewards to join our team located in Houston, TX. This internship opportunity is for Summer 2026.
The Total Rewards Intern supports the HR Total Rewards team by gaining hands-on experience in compensation, job architecture, and market benchmarking. The role involves assisting with compensation analyses, job descriptions, market research, data reporting, and program documentation. Through mentorship and project work, the intern builds foundational knowledge of compensation strategy and pay practices while developing professional skills for future HR, Compensation, or Benefits careers.

What Success Looks Like:
- Create standardized job descriptions using the company template and support building a centralized JD library for HR partners.
- Learn and apply job levels, job architecture, and role scoping to support accurate market benchmarking.
- Build and maintain the internal job catalog, including documenting job matches and performing compensation market matches.
- Support compensation data analysis through data validation, audits, and preparation of summary reports.
- Assist with documenting Total Rewards processes, guidelines, and tools to improve consistency, scalability, and knowledge sharing across HR.
What You Bring:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field, with a strong interest in compensation and Total Rewards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis, with prior coursework or internship experience in HR, compensation, or analytics, plus familiarity with job descriptions, compensation surveys, or HR systems.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Possesses strong written communication skills and the ability to learn and contribute effectively in a team environment.
This is a paid, full-time internship that will be paid hourly. The hourly range for this internship is $20 to $25, and the selected hourly rate will align with the intern’s academic experience.
