The HR Generalist will support and execute day-to-day Human Resources functions for the Malden and Wilmington facilities. This role will serve as the primary on-site HR contact for employees and managers, supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, engagement, compliance, training coordination, and HR initiatives.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, approachable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will partner closely with the HR Director based in New Orleans to drive HR programs, strengthen employee engagement, support operational goals, and ensure consistent HR practices across both facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for roles at the Malden and Wilmington facilities, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination.
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding, ensuring completion of paperwork, required training, system setup, and a positive first-day experience.
  • Partner with temporary staffing agencies to coordinate temporary labor needs, support production staffing requirements, monitor agency performance, and assist with conversion opportunities where appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary on-site HR contact for employees and managers regarding policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, and general HR questions.
  • Support employee relations by providing guidance to managers and employees, documenting concerns, and escalating complex issues to the HR Director as needed.
  • Partner with facility leadership to support staffing plans, retention efforts, workforce planning, and operational HR needs.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, site communications, and activities that support a positive workplace culture.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, safety requirements, and HR procedures.
  • Support performance management processes, including corrective action documentation, coaching support, and performance review coordination.
  • Coordinate and track required employee training, including safety, food safety/GMP, harassment prevention, and company policy training.
  • Partner with the HR Director in New Orleans to implement HR initiatives, improve HR processes, and ensure consistent practices across both facilities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships within the local community by attending job fairs, industry events, workforce development programs, and university career fairs to support recruiting efforts and strengthen the company’s employment brand.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job successfully.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent HR experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing, warehouse, food production, or distribution.
  • Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, compliance, and HR administration.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and basic federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, and follow-through skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems preferred.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent HR experience)
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, compliance, and HR administration
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, food production, or distribution
