Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The HR Generalist acts as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns maintaining a consistent and approachable presence throughout the plant
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Mediate, investigate, and resolve conflicts, ensuring fair and respectful treatment of employees.
  • Guide employees through various benefits processes (FMLA, STD, LTD, etc.)
  • Support disciplinary processes through reviewing draft documentation, issuing when necessary, tracking, and monitoring disciplinary actions, as well as giving recommendations on level of discipline based on facts
  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees.
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • The HR Generalist ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. (ADA, ADEA, EEOC, NLRA, etc.)
  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions on various HR topics.
  • Assist with planning and executing employee engagement and positive employee relations activities
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to align development plans to get a better place to work.
  • Coordinate - Collaborate company-wide events, celebrations, and community activities that strengthen teamwork, morale, and the sense of belonging.
  • Capable of providing support to employees on different shifts (rotating, nights, split shifts).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in HR or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Workday, ADP or similar software programs required.
  • Must be able to work an alternating shift: 4 weeks day shift (6:30am CT-4:30pm CT) followed by 4 weeks night shift (6:30pm CT-4:30am CT)
