Position Summary

The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management support, training coordination, and HR administration while ensuring alignment with labor laws, company policies, and production requirements. Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations across multiple states and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Assist managers/supervisors with performance management, documentation, and best practices.
  • Serve as point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Partner with third party leave administration company to support and ensure compliance with FMLA and ADA administration.
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with insurance providers.
  • Manage all aspects of the unemployment claim process, including appeals and hearings.
  • Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Assist with coordination of temp labor and converting temporary employees to permanent employees.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment for new hires and assist with annual open enrollment process.
  • Support payroll processes by ensuring accurate employee data and timekeeping coordination.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations into concerns, policy violations and misconduct allegations.
  • Create and maintain accurate personnel files.
  • Conduct annual Code of Business Conduct Training.
  • Maintain HRIS data and generate routine reports.
  • This role may require other job duties to be performed.

Qualifications (Knowledge & Skills)

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and best practices (FLSA, ADA, FMLA).
  • Familiarity with HRIS and applicant tracking software.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and customers verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Able to complete work accurately and on time.
  • Able to work collaboratively with direct team members, or across departments, and work independently as needed.
  • Candidates who apply for positions that require driving must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record. An MVR and proof of insurance will be required as part of the pre-employment background check process.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Experience managing Human Resources across multiple states.

Work Environment

  • Physical Conditions:
    • Office: This position works in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment, and is seated for long periods of time.
    • Production: This position works in a production facility and is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and utilize the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e.: eye/face protection, hearing protection, steel toes, etc.
  • Location: Onsite at Balco - 410 E 37th St N Suite A, Wichita, KS 67219
  • In-office: This role is located at our office. Employees must be present at the office and available to perform the essential functions of their jobs whenever they are scheduled to work.
