We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will assist in all aspects of human resources management, including safety, workers compensation, performance management, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, payroll, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have strong communication skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support administration of company-wide HR policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with company goals and federal/state/country legal requirements.
- Ensure accuracy of all HRIS records in Workday.
- Answer employee benefit questions as well as assist in annual open enrollment.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources to continuously ensure a seamless employee onboarding and offboarding experience.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on people programs that build employee engagement and retention.
- Cross train with our Payroll Manager to ensure coverage of other HR functions such as payroll, FMLA, leave of absence, unemployment and employment verifications, benefit enrollment and short- and long-term disability.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports containing confidential employee information for the HR Director as needed.
- Field employee questions in a timely manner and with a high level of customer service.
- Gather and share feedback from employees to continuously improve engagement initiatives.
- Participate in ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR processes and the employee experience.
- Proactively identify inefficiencies in HR workflows and contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and scalability.
- Recruitment of new employees to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained. This includes resume sourcing job postings, screenings, reviewing resumes, outreach and preparing offers.
- Facilitates and/or participates in manager and supervisor training as needed.
- Creates, updates, and maintains job descriptions.
- Assist managers with employee relation issues.
- Assist in coordination of employee events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, Psychology or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of broad-based Human Resources experience.
- 2 years Human Resources/ Payroll/Training experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is a plus.
- Workday and ADP payroll experience preferred.
- Hybrid work schedule 3 days per week onsite in our Milwaukee, WI office.
