Position summaryThe Human Resources Generalist assists the local, Ithaca Human Resources team and supports all employees on the Ithaca Campus. This position performs a variety of duties including, recruitment, benefit support, employee engagement, talent & development, and a positive relationship with the operational leadership teams. Passion for customer service is essential to this role.
Key accountabilities- Collaborate with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a detailed approach
- Participate in company-wide programs and initiatives including but not limited to salary review, workforce planning, organizational change, onboarding, job analysis, new hire and exit processes, selection, performance, inclusion and diversity, and leadership initiatives
- Maintain the relationship with temporary contract agencies and leads temporary /contract employee on-boarding process
- Lead outreach efforts including community service and recruitment.
- Prepare job descriptions, and engage in recruitment-related activities including reviewing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting orientations, and coordinating any temporary staffing needs
- Assist or owns the student cooperative placement and internship programs
- Works closely with management in the implementation of corporate and campus policies related to human resources and employee development
- Recommend employee relations practices vital to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
- Help implement innovative ways, corrective actions, and updates to policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
- HRIS input and reporting monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc metrics and reports
- Assist with internal training programs and evaluate the efficiency
- Participate in employee activities, sponsored events, and special group projects as required
- Associate’s degree+ preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Human Resources Experience – recruitment is a plus
- Experience with UKG Dimensions, Workday a plus
- Microsoft Office Suite Proficient, advanced Excel preferred
