About the Role:

The HR Generalist in the Non-Durable Goods Manufacturing sector plays a pivotal role in managing and supporting the full spectrum of human resources functions to ensure a productive and compliant workplace at both the Morristown Bakery and Indianapolis Depot. This position is responsible for implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, and facilitating talent acquisition and retention strategies that align with the company’s operational goals. The role requires a proactive approach to resolving employee issues, administering benefits, and maintaining accurate HR records to support organizational efficiency. The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with management and employees to foster a positive work environment that promotes engagement and professional development. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably within manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in the non-durable goods manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and benefits administration software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with employee engagement and organizational development programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment process including job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new hires.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring company policies are up to date.
  • Handle employee relations issues by providing guidance, conducting investigations, and facilitating conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and prepare HR reports as needed.
  • Support performance management processes including performance reviews and employee development initiatives.
  • Coordinate training sessions and assist in the implementation of HR initiatives and programs.
  • Collaborate with management to address workforce planning and organizational development needs.
