About the Role
An established business in Steeledale is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join a fast-paced and dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting both employees and management while ensuring HR best practices are maintained across the business.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new employees
- Provide HR guidance and support to managers and employees
- Manage employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases
- Prepare employment contracts, letters, and other HR documentation
- Monitor attendance, leave, absenteeism, and employee movements
- Support payroll administration and ensure accurate, timeous payroll submissions
- Assist employees with payroll-related queries
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labour legislation, and HR best practices
- Maintain and manage biometric attendance systems
- Compile HR reports and monitor key HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and recruitment activity
- Provide management with HR insights and recommendations to support business decision-making
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or related field
- 3–5 years' experience in a generalist HR role
- Proven recruitment and employee relations experience
- Experience with disciplinary processes and investigations
- Working knowledge of South African labour legislation
- Payroll administration experience advantageous
- Experience with biometric attendance systems
- Strong administrative, reporting, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
